P31P programmable electronic proportional regulators allow for regulation of outlet pressure proportionally to an electrical control signal. This unit utilizes an onboard user friendly LED display for changing and customizing parameters such as adjustment of pressure limits, control signal (0-10V or 4-20mA), output control signal, span analog output signal, digital display, set pressure scale (PSIG, bar, Mpa), minimum and/or maximum pressure, and behavior control. Units can be ordered in normally closed (NC) or forced exhaust normally open (NO) versions. For the forced exhaust version, when supply voltage is lost, the unit will automatically exhaust the regulated pressure to zero. Internal pulse-width modulated valves control the output pressure proportionally to a field convertible analog input control signal of 0-10V or 4-20mA.
The unit is comprised of a traditional servo-operated pneumatic pressure regulator, where the pilot chamber is fed by one of two pulse-width modulated 2-way solenoid valves. An internal pressure sensor measures the output pressure of the regulator and provides a feedback signal to the controller. Any difference between the control signal and the feedback signal is converted to a digital signal to energize one or the other 2-way valves to correct the position of the regulator.
